Supporters of Ferdinand Marcos gather near his grave in the Heroes' Cemetery in Manila on Saturday, a day after the former dictator was buried in a low-profile ceremony. Her daughter, Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos, and son Senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr also thanked supporters and apologised for keeping the burial secret. Bonifacio Ilagan, a left-wing activist who was detained and tortured during Marcos' rule, said the dictator was buried "like a thief in the night". A lawmaker considered asking the Supreme Court to exhume the newly buried Marcos. But his family fought for his remains to be transferred to the Heroes' Cemetery.
